Last week I promised you would be encouraged if you came to the service on Sunday morning and I am confident that promise was kept. But before I write further on Daada's visit, can I just say what a delight it was to see so many people there? There were also as many gifts donated as I have ever seen us collect and we all know that they will all be well used, and used for God's kingdom work as well!
There are weeks when I feel that I've worked hard... and then I hear what Daada gets up to and all my efforts just seem to pale into insignificance. Hearing about what God is doing through the ongoing work in Kings Cross, the reconciliation work, the medical clinic and the swamp rice project in Liberia was both humbling and astounding at the same time. We really do have much to thank God for and so much to continue to pray for.
It is, of course, a joy to be able to be a small part of this ministry of giving of gifts at Christmas, but it's even better to be a recipient of the free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23). So let's pray for Daada that as he hands out these presents in the coming weeks he will also be given the opportunity to share the gospel - the greatest gift of all - with those who desperately need it.
