“… Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.”
1 Corinthians 15:3-5
Every Easter, Christian churches celebrate Christ’s resurrection from the grave and his victory over sin and death. We rejoice in that day when the power of God shook the earth and the stone was rolled back revealing an empty grave where Jesus' dead body had been placed just days earlier. We commit our lives to the saviour of the world who was resurrected and now reigns with the Father in heaven.
Over these days, the focus of our Sunday and midweek services naturally turns to the Bible passages describing what happened leading up to and after those momentous events. We'd love for you to join us at any of these times, whether you are a believer or are just interested in finding out more about Jesus for yourself.
On Easter Sunday, our time together will begin a little earlier than usual as we will be serving breakfast before the service starts. If attending, please come ready to enjoy some food and the blessing of time spent in fellowship together. During the service, pastor James Pope will preach from God’s word. Why not take some time beforehand to read Matthew 28:1-10 and Luke 24:1-8 both of which will help focus our thoughts on the events of that history-changing morning more than 2,000 years ago.
Palm Sunday Family Service
A fun, child-focused service with songs, games, puppets, magic and a children's talk for your whole family to experience together. We'll have snacks and refreshments available before, during and after the service.
Maundy Thursday Communion Service
A celebration of the Lord's Supper together as we remember and reflect on the events of the night that Jesus was betrayed.
Good Friday Services
There is a short service at the Parish Church at 10:15am then everyone will walk into town and meet outside the Old Gaol for an open air service starting at 11:00am.
Easter Saturday Social
A fun Easter-themed social time for all the family starting at 3pm with games. This is a good opportunity to invite friends and family to join in with the fun.
Easter Sunday
We'll be serving breakfast before the service starts so don't arrive too full already! During the actual service time we'll have our usual mix of songs, children's talk, prayer and sermon all focused on the resurrection. Free refreshments and snacks will be available as well.
