Arguably the most profound three words in the entire Easter account are those of Jesus from the cross:
“It is finished.”
As he gave up his life, with his very last breath, Jesus declares that God’s plan of salvation – to achieve forgiveness for all who believe – is complete. It is because of these three words that as Christians we celebrate Easter even more than we celebrate Christmas.
Easter is our celebration of Jesus’ victory over both sin and death. Jesus' resurrection was the proof that when he said, “it is finished,” God really had completed everything he promised.
Focus on Jesus
Why not take some time to re-read the accounts from each of the four gospels, particularly if you're taking part in the 24-hour fast. Perhaps make use of a study guide like this one by Tim Keller to help direct your thoughts.

If you would like to talk about what this means for you please drop us a line or come along to any of our services over the Easter weekend - or before, if you prefer - we'd be delighted to speak with you.
