Comfort in the scriptures

I find it amazing that music can provide such comfort. Often I only need to hear a few notes and my mind not only recognises the song but recalls the words, remembers events and even smells that I've associated with a specific tune. And then it's there, playing in my mind, sometimes for the rest of the day!

Hungering for Christ

While working through the material for Discipleship Explored this week (Philippians 3:10-4:1) I was challenged to consider how deeply I know Christ. That might seem unusual - I'm a Christian, after all, and have been for over 30 years; I should already know Him, right?

But the discussion just resonated with me: "...the more Paul gets to know Christ the hungrier he is to know him more." What a great reminder that we're never "there"; our relationship can always deepen further; we must always press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Do I hunger and thirst to know Christ?
